The Department of Commerce was established to provide candidates with specialization in the field of commerce, for which there is a constant need for trained professionals. The Department offers training and education in various knowledge areas such as finance, general business, economics, banking, accounting, marketing, etc. The undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the Department of Commerce not only provide candidates with knowledge in the above-mentioned areas, but also equip them with management skills that will help them assume appropriate responsibilities in their chosen field.

Students are trained in communication skills and computer literacy to enhance their opportunities in the highly competitive market. The college conducts various field projects, case studies and industry visits to provide students with real-life business insights and experience. The college also invites various guest lectures and provides opportunities for students to interact with experts at seminars and conferences organized at national and international levels. These courses provide a comprehensive understanding of all core areas, particularly advanced accounting, international accounting, management, securities market operations and the business environment, research methodology, and tax planning.
Students will be able to understand business, accounting and auditing practices, the role of regulators in the corporate and financial sectors, and the nature of various financial instruments.

This course provides an extreme and rigorous foundation for teaching, research, and related areas of business administration. It serves the needs of academics and prepares students for research and teaching. The programme is very popular in industry and has been meeting the needs of business and industry executives for years. The M.Com degree programme offers research in various areas of the commerce discipline and has a large base of research contributions. The Department of Commerce is guided by the overall vision of the University, i.e., to touch the lives of every student by instilling prudence, efficiency, creativity, and compassion to work for the betterment of the marginalised in society. The M.Com degree programme seeks to inculcate a sense of responsibility, honesty, conscience, justice, and above all, human values. Overview : -

The Master of Commerce is a 2-year postgraduate programme divided into 4 semesters and is designed for students who have passed the B.Com. examination. The programme emphasises accounting, commerce, economics and management related subjects. Courses include subjects such as economic analysis, statistical analysis, organisational theory and behaviour, business environment, managerial accounting, financial management and policy, strategic management, marketing management, quantitative techniques for making business decisions, human resource management, international business, accounting theory and practise, and more. Candidates are also given extensive project assignments and case studies to develop and cultivate their analytical thinking to solve practical problems. After the course, candidates can work as an account executive, assistant finance manager, financial analyst, operations manager, finance manager, accountant, etc.
